The Sagehens hosted Menlo College on the night of the
5th and lost a close ballgame to the visiting Oaks,
63-61. The game was close the whole night and the
Hens just missed a last second shot that would have put
the game into overtime. Alexander Lloyd led the
Hen team with his 15 point, 5 rebound performance.
Gregg Morales was the only other Sagehen in double
digits with 11 points, as he went 3 for 3 from behind
the arc. Andrew Grant and Tyler Velten each
grabbed a team-high 6 boards on the
night.
Pomona-Pitzer traveled to Carson, Ca, to take on Cal
State Dominquez Hills on the 1st of December and the
Sagehens fell to the host team by the score of
59-53. Alexander Lloyd led the Hen offense with 14
points on the night and Andrew Grant came off the bench
to tally 11 of his own. Jeff Quinn-Cane led the
team in boards by pulling down 6 on the night.
There were 5 lead changes in the second half before
C.S.D.H. finally claimed the victory. The Hens
shot 36 % from the floor and 57 % from the free throw
line.
The Hens traveled to La Sierra to take on the Golden
Eagles on the 28th and the Hen team defeated the host squad by the
score of 65-61. Four Sagehens scored in double
figures on the night with Justin Smith tallying 12
points, Jeff Quinn-Cane 11, Mark Erler 12, and Andrew
Grant with 11 off the bench. Grant led the team
with 11 rebounds while Quinn-Cane grabbed 9 of his
own.

Pomona-Pitzer hosted and lost to the Panthers of Chapman
on the 3rd by the score of 92-53. The visiting
squad got off to an early lead and never looked
back. Leading the charge for the Hens was Tamara
Zakim with 17 points on the night. Lindsay Hill
had 9 points and a team high 6 boards for the
Hens. The Sagehens were outrebounded 44-22 on the
night.
The Sagehen squad traveled to Cal Bapist on the
29th and fell to the
host team, 50-74. Lindsay Hill paced the Hens with
21 points on the night on 8 of 14 shooting from the
floor. Hill also grabbed 9 boards to go with her
offensive showing. Tamara Zakim had 14 points of
her own and a team high 10 rebounds for the Hens.
On the night, the Hens were held to under 35% shooting
from the floor.

Swimming/Diving 0-0

At the Speedo Cup in Long Beach, Sagehen Ben Komer had some
great performances including a national qualifying time and
school record in the 50 yard freestyle. Ben placed 8th
in the event dominated by NCAA Divsion 1 swimmers from
Stanford and BYU. The record of :20.59 takes a full
tenth of a second off his previous best effort. On
Saturday the 1st, Ben also qualified for nationals with his
swim in the 100 yard freestyle. Coach Gary Troyer
noted, "These swims put Ben in a great spot for the
rest of the year. He can swim through most of the
meets and be totally ready for SCIAC and the national meet
in March."

David Bates, a frosh diver for the Hens, placed third in
the one meter diving event held at Redlands on the 1st of
December.

A small group of Sagehens attended the Speedo Cup on
December 1st in Long Beach. The Hens produced 9 season
best times and 3 lifetime best swims on the weekend.
The Hens' three lifetime best swims came from Jennie Marble
(200 fly & 200 back), and Kristen Haker (200
back). Complete
