The Rains Center for Sport and Recreation, Pomona's $16-million athletic complex,
completed in 1992, ranks among the best in the country. The facilities include two
gymnasiums with four full-length basketball courts and four volleyball courts; two
squash courts and four racquetball/handball courts; a 50-meter swimming pool with
one- and three-meter diving boards; a 25-yard recreational pool; renovated baseball,
football, and soccer fields; 14 all-weather tennis courts; an eight-lane, all-weather
track; practice fields; and weight-training, sports medicine, and locker rooms.
