What have you been up to since graduation? Where are you living? What are you doing? |
| Upon graduation I took a job working for the Gallo Wine Company in the South Bay area (Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach). After a year I moved out of sales and into small business consulting in Pasadena. I currently live in Silver Lake (between downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood) and assistant coach the Hellhens outside of my full-time job, as I have since graduation. I will be attending the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan beginning Fall of 2008. |
What impact (if any) has the Hellhen Tennis Program had on your life? |
| This is an interesting question for me because I don’t believe our tennis team really finished developing into The Hellhen Program it is today until after my playing career. However, watching this Program evolve over the past 8 years has proven to me that no task, no matter how daunting it may seem, is impossible with a strong team culture founded on trust and accountability. I try to promote these values into any team project I tackle in the professional world. |
What was your fondest Hellhen experience? |
| For me, last year’s Spring Break trip to Texas was truly a culmination of the work we did to build The Program into what it is. Stealing two 5-4 victories (with both matches tied 4-4) from teams ranked ahead of us proved this Program was greater than just the sum of its parts. |
Do you have any advice for those considering the program? |
| The Hellhen is more than a mascot; it is a mindset. To fully understand The Program and all that it represents, you need to meet the people that make it special. Whether by phone, email or hopefully visit, try to contact the coaching staff and members of The Program to decide whether this is the place for you to not only improve yourself, but also your fellow Hellhens. |
