WOMEN’S
BASKETBALL Overall: 2-2 SCIAC: 0-0

The women’s basketball team split two contests over the weekend at the West Coast Classic hosted by Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. In the first game against St. Olaf, Gre’Juana Dennis led the way offensively with 18 points to go with her 4 rebounds on the night. Sojourner Howe and Jamie Guenthoer each added 15 points for the contest. Guenthoer pulled down 7 boards as well. The battle of the boards went the way of St. Olaf, however, as they collected 46 while the Hens were only able to gather 30.
In the Hens’ second night of action over the weekend, they bounced back with a win over the Lewis & Clark Pioneers. Gre’Juana Dennis and Sojourner Howe again paced the Hens’ offensive attack as each player tallied 19 points for the game. Both players helped on the boards as well as Dennis pulled down 8 boards and Howe grabbed 6. The Hens were able to shoot 70% from the free throw line on the evening.
The
Sagehens will next travel to Azusa Pacific on Wednesday before hosting national
powerhouse Washington University.
MEN’S

The Sagehen men lost twice this past
weekend at the West Coast Classic. On
Friday night at the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps gymnasium, the Hens were led
offensively by Travis Bray and Jeremiah Martin. Bray contributed 20 points while Martin tallied 19 of his
own. Bray also collected 6 rebounds on
the night. The Hens went into halftime
with a two point lead but could not hold on as they shot just 25% from the
floor in the second half.
The following night at Voelkel
Gymnasium saw the Hens inch closer to a win against Hamilton College. Jeremiah Martin paced the Hens offensively
with 21 points. Martin also contributed
5 rebounds and 3 steels on the defensive side of the floor. Dylan Nachand contributed 10 points for the
Hens as well as dishing out 3 assists on the evening.
The Hens will next play host to
Biola on Tuesday and won’t play again for one week.
MEN’S
SWIMMING/DIVING Overall: 1-0 SCIAC: 1-0
The men’s swim/dive team did not
compete last weekend and will next travel to Irvine to compete in the Speedo
Cup. The Invitational will last from
Thursday through Saturday.
