Highlights:
2008
Took 2nd at the season-opening UC Irvine 5k in 18:44, and then ran 23:02 to finish 3rd at the Redlands 6000m Invite. Ran 22:25 at the Stanford Invite in late September. After taking October off due to injury, Freese returned to action in the NCAA West Regional meet and took a strong third place overall in 21:54 to lead her team to an NCAA team berth. At Nationals, Freese finished 22nd to earn All American honors -- only the 2nd Pomona-Pitzer woman to do so in the program's history. Her time National meet time of 21:32 stands as the best-ever 6000m time for the Sagehens.
2007
Took 1st place individually at the Sept 15 Redlands Invitational in a strong 22:47 6000m time. Returned from illness and injury to place 2nd overall in the SCIAC Multi-Duals in 23:56. Won the SCIAC Champs and earned SCIAC Runner of the Year honors with her victory (movie clip). Her winning time of 22:18 over the 6k course is 2nd-quickest in school history. At the NCAA West Regional meet, she ran 21:59 to place sixth and qualify individually to the NCAA National meet. Her time set an all-time 6k best for Pomona-Pitzer, and she becomes the 13th Pomona-Pitzer woman to qualify to Nationals. Finished 47th at the NCAA National meet in 22:28 in snow flurries to lead all conference women (movie clip).
2006
Ran #1 on the team at the UC Irvine Invite with a strong 20:33. And ran #1 on the team again at the Redlands Invitational, clocking a strong 24:03 over the 6000m (3.7 mile) course. Ran a PR 18:54 to lead the squad at the UC Riverside Invite. Ran a terrific 23:34 6k time to finish third overall at the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet in mid-October. Finished second overall at the SCIAC Championships to lead Pomona-Pitzer in a time of 24:07 and earn First Team All Conference honors.
