The Sagehens suffered a close loss today in a non-SCIAC game versus La Sierra. Senior goalkeeper Caroline Flynn held La Sierra scoreless through the first half with three impressive saves. However in the 59th minute, during the second half, the ball ricocheted off the head of a Pomona defender, finding its way into the net. There was one glimmer of hope near the end of the game when Pomona got the ball into La Sierra’s net, but the goal was called back with an offside call from the referee. Unfortunately Pomona was unable to score on any of the 13 shots that they had during the game.
The Hens look to get another win in SCIAC play in their next game on Saturday, October 11 at home versus Redlands. |
