After helping to lead the team to a #6 national ranking last year, two All-Americans return to the Sagehens for the 2007-08 season, junior Becca Lange and sophomore Siobhan Finicane.
Lange earned All-American status in singles in 2006 and in doubles in 2007 with Finicane. They finished the 2006-07 season ranked #1 in the West Region and #3 nationally. Lange also earned the ITA Rookie of the Year Award for the West Region in 2005-06, and the Player to Watch for the West in 2006-07.
Finicane became an All-American in fall 2006 by winning the Wilson/ITA Fall Re gional Tournament. During the regular spring season of 2007, she continued her success, becoming an All-American in both singles and doubles with Lange. Finicane finished the 2006-07 season ranked #1 in the West and #3 in the country. Finicane was the national Rookie of the Year in 2006-07.
Much of the 2006-07 team will return as well to complement Finicane and Lange. With a strong incoming freshman class and the added experience of the past years, the Sagehens look forward to a challenging schedule and an even more successful season. |
